Passengers flying into or out of Auckland Airport (AKL) can take advantage of the plentiful facilities onsite, within both the International and Domestic terminal buildings. There are more than 100 shops available, meaning that if you are looking for that last minute gift or holiday memento, you will certainly be spoilt for choice.
Located just after security, there is a useful Collection Point for shoppers visiting Auckland, where good purchased from participating shops across New Zealand are sent to the airport for your collection when you fly out of the country. Alternatively, perhaps you have arrived early and have time for a meal at one of the restaurants, such as the Hayama Sushi Bar and its authentic Japanese cuisine, or the Silk Road Restaurant, where Asian dishes include flavours from China, India and Thailand.

There are various service and information decks at Christchurch Airport, for airlines such as Air New Zealand, Emirates, Menzies and Qantas. You may also like to visit the Flight Centre (travel agent) or the i-Site Visitor Centre, which is operated by Tourism Auckland and is the place to come if you need to arrange transport tickets accommodation or a sightseeing excursion, or perhaps fancy renting a car or campervan.
Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets
Auckland Airport features good shopping facilities, with a huge number of shops distributed around the International Terminal and Domestic Terminal buildings. Just a short distance from the terminals, off George Bolt Memorial Drive / John Goultir Drive, the Airport Shopping Centre provides further opportunities. The main shops within the terminals include:

Business and Conference Facilities
Business amenities include two large conference rooms in the International Terminal building, and additional meeting rooms within the Domestic Terminal, such as the 'Clubhouse', the 'Cabin' and the 'Coachrooms'. Business facilities include telephones, photocopying, audiovisual equipment and fast Internet access, laptop connections and spacious VIP airport lounges, including the Akarana Lounge.
Other Facilities
Other facilities at AKL include an airline sales desk, luggage storage, luggage trolleys, bicycle facilities, regular flight announcements, airport Internet kiosks, lost property desks, passenger assistance, Muslim prayer mats, medical services and basic first aid facilities. Auckland Airport also features public phones operated by both coins and phone cards, a popular museum, nursery facilities for young babies, baby changing areas in the female toilets, a childcare centre, a children's entertainment centre, indoor and outdoor playground areas for children, designated smoking areas in the terminal forecourts, bathrooms and shower facilities, a miniature golf course, day rooms, video games and drinking water fountains.
